My felted animals are made from 100% wool. They are not sewn or stuffed, but built from solid wool. I form the body by needle-felting, poking the wool (and sometimes my fingers) hundreds of times to meld the fibers. I then use soap, water, and a lot of rubbing to further felt the layers of fiber. The wet-felting shrinks and tightens the wool, creating a dense and very durable felted companion.
As perhaps you can tell from the pictures, I’m fond of making dogs and cats, bunnies and bears. I like foxes too. The whales are a fairly new addition, as are the weird little ducks. I’m looking forward to exploring more of the animal kingdom in the future.
